About Jodie Nicholls
Managing Director and CEO
Jodie Nicholls is the Managing Director and CEO of Mutuals Matter Pty Ltd. With over 25 years of experience as a solicitor, Jodie specialises in establishing and managing discretionary mutuals, ensuring compliance and governance with Australian Financial Services Licence (AFSL) authorisations. She provides expert advice and management on legal and regulatory matters related to their requirements and operations.
Jodie played a pivotal role in the establishment and development of Unimutual Ltd and Capricorn Mutual Ltd, Australia’s first mutuals with AFSL authorisations for dealing and issuing miscellaneous risk products. More recently, she has founded ACS Mutual Ltd and Employsure Mutual Ltd.
As a solicitor and partner in a major insurance litigation firm, Jodie represented clients in State Supreme and Appellant Courts, demonstrating success in conducting complex insurance and commercial litigation. This extensive experience enables her to provide strategic advice and oversee claims for discretionary mutuals.
Jodie holds an Honors degree in Law and Economics and has completed the ASIC Tier 1 Insurance Broking course with RG146 compliance. She is a nominated Responsible Manager for several Australian Financial Services Licensees, a director of John Holland Mutual and Asservo Mutual Ltd, Chair of SJH Financial Services Ltd, Company Secretary, and Special Counsel for Unimutual Limited.
